When it comes to the low carb diets it is true that most of the initial weight is the result of losing water weight?

I think that is true of any diet you start, not just low carb diets. After all, most overweight people probably eat snack food and unhealthy food that has a high sodium content. Thus, they retain water. When you change the way you eat to a more healthy way, you lose water weight.

It does give a nice, inspiring early weight loss that helps keep you on track.
