By fasting or using an elimination diet, however, I wouldn't do this for more than to or three days at a time.

Do a search for a book called "Back to Eden" its a good book full of lots of information

It also depends what weight you want to lose. Fasting is dangerous for the body, and provokes muscle loss -- it also provokes loss of other things, like nails and hair. The fast growing tissues are the first things that the body gives up on, and there are quite a few women who've tried to ditch weight quickly by fasting, only to find that their skin, nails and hair paid the price for it.

It's better to go with any kind of reduction diet that provides a regular nutritional supply. As for which diet is the fastest, that's not something that has a one-size-fits-all answer -- it varies with your body type, blood type and routine. The most effective diets, however, are always ones you can live with AFTER you reach your goal -- it's one thing to lose the weight, but quite another to keep the weight off afterwards!

Most of us lose weight, then fall back into the old routines that put the weight on in the first place, a cycle that destroys muscle tissue and effectively lowers _meta_bolic rate over time. Finding a diet you can stick with as a life_style_, rather than as a way to get into your old jeans, is really the key.
